BATS THEATRE, 1 KENT TERRACE, WELLINGTON
Tuvalu’s evacuation is upon us. Three siblings must pack their belongings and migrate to Niu Sila – the promise of a safe life awaits them. It is time for final goodbyes to their beloved Tuvalu. It is harder for some, than others.
As the family watch their history being swept away right in front of them, their identity is all they have to hold them to who they are, and where they come from. A traditional culture in a changing environment leaves the legacy of their ancestors abandoned by those who love them most. Songs sing of a land gifted from God and taken by the greed of man. The same oceans that carried the people of Tuvalu is now taking them away forever, “God Save Tuvalu…”
